Let's get started!
We’ve worked with Belbin on a number of adverts and instructional videos together with a London-based production company who we have a close relationship with. This great project required us to translate the original American English voice over into a number of different languages and to prepare the video for a global audience. We were asked to record voice overs in Chinese, British English, French, and Swedish. We were also asked to provide our European Spanish voice over services for a Spanish voice over for the video you can find here. Working together with one client on many different projects over several years allows us to add the extra personal touch because we know how they like to work and they can trust us to produce high quality translations and voice overs time and time again.
This video’s fun script and generous timing combined with the perfect voice over talent from our European Spanish voice over agency books allowed us to capture the perfect tone for this project. It was important to keep the Spanish voice over recording light while also remaining informative and interesting so the viewer could stay engaged.
Years of working together with the client has resulted in us being able to streamline the voice over production process, allowing us to create high quality content with a quick turnaround.
The end result was a slick and fun voice over that beautifully complements the video’s animation. Our clients were really happy with the results and continue to work with us on any projects.
Spanish also called Castilian, is a Romance language that originated in the Castile region of Spain and today has hundreds of millions of native-speakers. Because of its vast geographical distribution and great variety of dialects, Spanish is classified as a macrolanguage.
Spanish is a part of the Ibero-Romance group of languages, which evolved from several dialects ofcommon Latin in Iberia after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century. It was first documented in central-northern Iberia in the 9th century and gradually spread with the expansion of the Kingdom of Castile into central and southern Iberia. Beginning in the early 16th century, Spanish was taken to the colonies of the Spanish Empire, most notably to the Americas, as well as territories in Africa, Oceania and the Philippines.
From its beginnings, Spanish vocabulary was influenced by its contact with Basque, as well as by neighboring Ibero-Romance languages, and later it absorbed many Arabic words during the Muslim presence in the Iberian Peninsula. It also adopted words from non-Iberian languages, particularly the Romance languages Occitan, French, Italian and Sardinian, as well as from Nahuatl and other Indigenous languages of the Americas.
In Spain and in some other parts of the Spanish-speaking world, Spanish is called castellano (Castilian) as well as español (Spanish), the language of the region of Castile, contrasting it with other languages spoken in Spain such as Galician, Basque and Catalan. The Spanish Royal Academy, on the other hand, currently uses the term español in its publications but from 1713 to 1923 called the language castellano.
The Diccionario panhispánico de dudas (a language guide published by the Spanish Royal Academy) states that although the Spanish Royal Academy prefers to use the term español in its publications when referring to the Spanish language, both terms, español and castellano, are regarded as synonymous and equally valid.
Two etymologies for español have been suggested. The Spanish Royal Academy Dictionary derives the term from the Provençal word espaignol, and that in turn from the Medieval Latin word Hispaniolus, ‘from—or pertaining to—Hispania’. Other authorities attribute it to a supposed mediaeval Latin *hispaniōne, with the same meaning.
It is estimated that more than 400 million people speak Spanish as a native language, which qualifies it as second on the lists of languages by number of native speakers. There are an estimated 470 million Spanish speakers with native competence and 560 million Spanish speakers as a first or second language, including speakers with limited competence and 20 million students of Spanish as a foreign language. It is the third language by total speakers behind Mandarin and English. Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and it is used as an official language by theEuropean Union, the Organization of American States, and the Union of South American Nations, among many other international organizations.
Spanish is the official or national language in Spain, Equatorial Guinea, and 19 countries in the Americas. Speakers in the Western Hemisphere total some 418 million. In the European Union, Spanish is the mother tongue of 8% of the population, with an additional 7% speaking it as a second language. Spanish is the most popular second language learned in the United States.
